Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT)is located in Xi'an, a famous historical and cultural city. Covering an area of around 4,300 mu (about 287 ha), it consists of two campuses (one in Yanta and the other in Caotang) and one science and education industrial park. With a profound history of school running, it has gathered a galaxy of talents versed in civil engineering, architecture and municipal administration subjects. So far, XAUAT has been the publically-acknowledged most influential civil engineering university in China. As one of the “Most Time-Honored Eight Civil Engineering and Architecture Related Universities” in China, and the key university directly subordinate to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, XAUAT is jointly sponsored by Shaanxi provincial government, Ministry of Education of China as well as Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development at present.

Currently, XAUAT has 21 schools , one graduate school, and one school of international education. There are around 36,000 students studying in XAUAT, and around 1,800 teaching staff. Among them, there are 1 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), 1 academicians of the Academyof Science of South Africa (ASSAf)  and 9 alumni academicians. XAUAT has 3 former national key disciplines (Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architectural Design and Theory), 9 doctoral degree programs in first-level disciplines and mobile post-doctoral stations, 1 professioal doctoral degree program, 27 master degree programs in first-level disciplines, and 18 professional master degree programs. XAUAT has 65 undergraduate programs, 27 of which have been selected as the national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 35 of which have been selected as the first-class undergraduate program construction sites of Shaanxi Province, and 14 of which have passed the national professional evaluation and certification.After 60 years of construction and development, XAUAT has made great strides, successfully developing itself into a multidisciplinary university with civil construction, environment, municipal administration, material and metallurgy as its subject specialties. Coordinated development has been achieved for its engineering, science, management, art, literature, law and economy subjects with engineering techniques at the core.

XAUAT offers bachelor, master and Ph.D degree education to international students, as well as the non-degree education of Chinese language and Chinese culture. International Chinese Langauge Teachers Scholarship Scholarship, Shaanxi Sanqin Scholarship, Xi'an “Belt and Road” Scholarship,  Xi’an ‘Five Central Asian Countries” Education and Training program Scholarship and XAUAT Scholarship are available for international students. XAUAT attempts to bring up international all-around talents with professional skills and practical abilities.
