签证、居留许可申请

一、根据新的出入境管理法，与国际学生相关的签证为X1字和X2字签证。

二、学生来中国留学需持普通护照，进修六个月（含）以上的外国人应申请办理X1字学习签证，办理此签证需提交《录取通知书》和《外国来华留学人员签证申请表》（JW202表）；学习时间在六个月以下的，可申请X2字签证。

三、持X1签证来中国的外国人，应于入境后30天内到公安机关申请办理外国人居留许可。

外国国际学生申请居留许可须履行下列手续：

1.缴验护照及签证；

2.持本人护照、学校提供的《外国人签证证件申请表》、《录取通知书》、《外国来华留学人员签证申请表》（JW202表）、《办理居留许可的工作请示》和陕西国际旅行卫生保健中心出具的《外国人体格检查表》、校内或校外《临时住宿证明》、学费缴纳单、近期二寸半身正面白色背景免冠照片两张及400元人民币签证费；校外住宿的需自行完成《临时住宿证明》。最后请到国际教育学院国际学生管理办公室完成报到和注册信息录入后，到西安市公安局出入境管理局申请办理居留许可。

四、X2短期学习签证说明：

1. 适合在华学习六个月以下者，申请者无需检查身体，一般允许一次入境。

2. 持X2签证的外国人在学习期间要出境，须在出境前向公安机关申请办理返回中国的签证，否则将不能再次入境。

3. 办理返回中国的签证应于启程前10天申请。申请时需持《外国人签证证件申请表》，并交验本人的护照及校内或校外《临时住宿证明》。

4. X2签证有效期最长六个月，期满前30天可持加盖学校公章的《外国人签证证件申请表》到公安机关办理延期手续。

五、得到签证后，请注意签证有效期并在有效期内及时延长，对签证有疑问请向学校老师或公安机关咨询。签证过期属于违法行为，违法者将被处以每日500元人民币的罚款，拘留审查或者遣返出境。

六、与签证相关的现住址、学校信息、护照换领、202表/201表等项目有变动时，应及时到公安机关办理变更手续。

Visa and Residence Permit

1. In accordance with the new “Entry and Exit Administration Law”, the visa for international students is X1 or X2.

2. Students study in China shall use ordinary passport. International students who will study more than six months shall apply for X1 study visa. Students shall submit admission notification together with JW202 form for X1 study Visa application. Students who will study less than 6 months can apply for X2 Visa.

3. Aliens who come to China on X1 visa shall apply for the residence permit at the public security bureau within 30 days after entering China.

International students applying for residence permit shall go through the following procedures:

1) Submission of passport and visa;

2) Students shall take the passport, JW 202 form, admission notification and permission from the university, “form of physical and body test of foreigners” issued by the Shaanxi International Travel Health Care Center, “temporary accommodation certificate on or off the campus”, Receipt of full tuition, two official photos with white background with the length of 2 inches and 400 RMB for visa fee. Student living outside the campus shall submit the confirmation letter of off-campus accommodation. Students shall complete the information at Students Affairs Office, School of International Education, and then apply for residence permit at department of entry and exit administration of Xi'an public security bureau (PSB).

4. The short-term study visa description:

1) X2 visa is for those who will study less than 6 months in China. Physical check is not compulsory for the applicants. Normally the applicants are allowed to enter the country only once.

2) In case of leaving the China during the study period, foreigners who hold the X2 visa shall apply for the Returning Visa back to China at Public Security Bureau before leaving. Otherwise they will not be able to enter the country again.

3) The visa for returning to China shall be applied 10 days before departure. Applicants shall bring “application form for visa certificate of foreigners” and “temporary accommodation certificate on or off the campus” stamped by the SIE.

4) The validity of the X2 visa shall be for a period up to six months. Students shall extend the Visa at public security bureau 30 days before the expiry with the officially stamped “application form for visa certificate of foreigners”.

5) After receiving the visa, please pay attention to the validity of the visa and extend it in time within the validity period. Please consult the university staff or public security bureau for any questions in regard of the visa. Overstay with expired visa is illegal, and the offender will be fined 500 RMB a day, detained or deported.

6) When changes are made in the current address, school information, passport replacement, 202 form /201 and other items related to the visa, the changes shall be made at the public security bureau in a timely manner.
